Waking up after taking a long nap, the Google’s Panda has finally hit the road with a bang pulling down the low quality content further in Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). Google’s head of webspam team Matt Cutts today announced via a tweet that they have started rolling out latest and somewhat a major update to their Panda algorithm to which they refer to as Panda 4.0
About Panda Updates
Google Panda update is Google’s search algorithm to determine and penalise low quality content/websites in the search results. Google Panda update was first launched in April 2012 and since then Google has kept rolling out minor and major updates to the Panda algorithm causing none to very noticeable impact on search appearance of many websites.
Panda 4.0 and its impact on search results
According to the Search Engine Land, Google has reportedly told them that the Panda 4.0 udate affects different languages to different degrees. For an example, its impact on English queries is said to be at ~7.5% of queries.
Update yet not over
However not all the users (both searchers and webmsaters) would notice is effect immediately as the update is still being rolled out. Many users and webmasters are expected to see minor to major shift in coming days.
