Don’t do keyword analysis using your keyword analyst’s mind, try to think from searcher’s point of view. Because unless you become a searcher, you don’t get to know what searchers think and what keywords do searchers search for on search engine!

2. Use a Keyword Research Tool

When you have primarily collected list of keywords, you need to check whether these keywords are searched on Google or not, and if searched how much the volume of search per month do they have. This is so important, because if you choose a keyword that is not widely searched on Google, you are going to rank on Google very easily but your website or the client is not going to get business any at all! So, choose keywords that are relevant and are often searched on Google. To know volume and competition of any keyword you can use Google’s own keyword research tool at https://adwords.google.com/o/KeywordTool which is freely available.

Now that you have compiled a long list of relevant keywords for your website, it’s time to filter and select only targeted keywords. Narrow your list by eliminating keywords that you think are not closely relevant or do not have sufficient search volume. Choose only those keywords that you think are best suited to your business and relevant to your website.

4. Target keywords with content.

Now that you have shortlisted relevant keywords, it is time to target them with nice content on your website. What you need to do now is to create content on website targeting these keywords. While you are developing content and targeting keywords, try to use 3-4 closely-related keywords per page. Don’t spam! Neither Google, nor people like spamming!
