Yes, when you kick off keyword analysis, first condition is to be a searcher rather than being an SEO professional. Unless you think from a web searcher’s mind and unless you apply logic of searcher, you will be unable to choose perfect keywords for your website. Don’t do keyword analysis using your keyword analyst’s mind, try to think from searcher’s point of view. Because unless you become a searcher, you don’t get to know what searchers think and what keywords do searchers search for on search engine!
2. Use a Keyword Research Tool
Now is the time to show your SEO skills! Now is the time to become an SEO professional! So wear your wings and select a good keyword research tool like Google’s. When you have primarily collected list of keywords, you need to check whether these keywords are searched on Google or not, and if searched how much the volume of search per month do they have. This is so important, because if you choose a keyword that is not widely searched on Google, you are going to rank on Google very easily but your website or the client is not going to get business any at all! So, choose keywords that are relevant and are often searched on Google. To know volume and competition of any keyword you can use Google’s own keyword research tool at https://adwords.google.com/o/KeywordTool which is freely available.

Choose only those keywords that you think are best suited to your business and relevant to your website.
4. Target keywords with content.
Now that you have shortlisted relevant keywords, it is time to target them with nice content on your website. What you need to do now is to create content on website targeting these keywords. While you are developing content and targeting keywords, try to use 3-4 closely-related keywords per page. Don’t spam! Neither Google, nor people like spamming!
5. Keep it fresh, live and ever updated!
Everything done, right? Yes, you’ve done everything from keyword research to content development. And now your website may have started ranking well in search engine results, but that’s not a full stop for you, you need to be constantly working on it in order to retain good rankings.
